Abstract
The research aims to examine the significance of English literature within the primary and secondary school curricula across various countries. As technology evolves and other influences emerge, the future role of English literature remains uncertain. A study was conducted to gather educators' perspectives on the importance of English literature in education. The results indicate that, despite advancements in technology, educators continue to regard English literature as a vital component of the curriculum. Literature is acknowledged as a valuable educational tool; however, its effectiveness in teaching is not always clear or straightforward. This paper investigates how the strengths of literature can be leveraged to support language learners while addressing its limitations to achieve optimal outcomes in teaching English as a second language (ESL).
