Abstract

The future of commercial kitchens is one of radical evolution in integration with automation and the Internet of Things. As the need for operational efficiency, precision, and innovation in the culinary industry continues to rise, the role of automated and connected kitchens will be of grave necessity. Automation reduces human intervention in repetitive tasks, thus ensuring consistency, cost savings, and improved productivity. IoT-enabled kitchens are all about connectivity: devices communicating, optimizing workflows, and providing actionable insights in real time. This whitepaper discusses the rationale for automation in commercial kitchens, business benefits of connected kitchen systems, types of IoT-enabled devices, and challenges faced by commercial kitchens today.
