Abstract
Sociologists have access to a variety of research methods to explore, characterize, and analyze the social landscape. Generally, these methods can be categorized into quantitative and qualitative approaches, each with its own set of strengths and weaknesses. The choice of method may depend on the specific topic and nature of the study and it is increasingly common to see a combination of both approaches utilized in contemporary research.
