Abstract

Amlapitta, known as acid peptic disorder or hyperacidity in contemporary medical terms, is a significant health concern that affects a considerable portion of the global population. Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine, offers a holistic approach to the management and treatment of Amlapitta through Kayachikitsa (general medicine). This article aims to explore the concept of Amlapitta in Ayurveda, its pathophysiology, diagnostic criteria, and a detailed discussion on Kayachikitsa, incorporating both traditional insights and modern perspectives. The synthesis of ancient wisdom with contemporary research provides a comprehensive understanding of managing Amlapitta, potentially offering effective alternative treatment modalities.
